Which VIN codes does a Jeep have?

The first three characters (WMI) of a Jeep VIN are usually one of these: 1J4 – Jeep, USA (older models); 1J8 – Jeep, USA (2000s); 1C4 – Jeep, USA (recent models); 3C4 – Jeep Compass, Mexico. A VIN with another code is not necessarily wrong, since makers change codes over time, but decode it to see what it says.
