Where the VIN is
In Poland the VIN is printed on the dowód rejestracyjny (registration certificate), field E. On the car it is at the bottom of the windshield and on the door pillar; all copies must match.
Rollbacks before import
Since 2020 tampering with an odometer is a crime in Poland, punishable by up to five years in prison, so rollbacks happen before the car is registered there. Compare the foreign readings with the Polish ones.
Damage abroad
Cars damaged in Germany or elsewhere are often repaired before the first Polish registration; the damage record in the country of origin is the only trace.
